Hey there, friend,

Just a quick note to my The Daily Grace beloveds to let you know there'll be not one, but TWO launch parties to celebrate the official publication of my historical fiction novel, That Which Binds Us! In South Carolina, we're gathering at M. Space in the Vista in beautiful Columbia, South Carolina. In Virginia, we're celebrating big in my hometown (and primary location in the novel) at Gather on Main Street in Wise, Virginia. If you live close to either of these locations, I do hope you'll make plans to attend. I'd so love to see you!

Details about each party are available on my website under the events tab, and you'll see a link there to get your (free) tickets! All it takes is your name and email address.
WHAT'S MORE, on the same website page you'll see the latest listing of book store events, etc. This is changing daily, so please check back. Along with my great publisher and wonderful publicist, I'm doing my best to sprinkle appearances all around Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and a bit of Georgia. Lots of good stuff is in the works, and I hope to be at a location near you this summer or fall!
I'm also thrilled That Which Binds Us has received two great industry reviews—who knew it's quite an honor to simply get a review! The first is from Booklist, the book review journal of the American Library Association. It reads, in part:

"Rigg's moving debut, a paean to the indomitable spirit of Virginia's Appalachian people and the beautiful geography they inhabit, should be savored. Fans of Southern literature and historical fiction will welcome this new voice."

The Historical Novel Society is an international organization "covering historical fiction the world over." From their review:

"The debut novel from Cathy Rigg comes with fine polish and skill, spun across five characters in the approach to, endurance through, and resolution after the Civil War. Set in the mountains of the southern Appalachians, threaded through with passions around conflict and an urge for new horizons, the story becomes a multidirectional tale of complicated human connection."

It's an exciting time, and I'm not exaggerating when I say this would not be happening if it weren't for your encouragement and support. I've been writing the Daily Grace since 2010 and the community we've built is one of the great joys of my life.

Thank you. Thank you!
