Day 29.5: Halloween in the Wickedest City in the West

Oct 31, 2011 | 30 Days of Grace | 2 comments

Jerome, Arizona October 2009

Sweet memories of Halloween 2009 when my husband and I ventured west. It was his plan to have me peering into the Grand Canyon (Life List #1) on my 50th birthday. Accompanied by our dear friends and traveling buddies the Coles, we spent a glorious weekend in Sedona, including a little side trip to the irreverent-and-still-quite-charming mountain mining town of Jerome, Arizona, pop: 353, elevation: “mile high.” I snapped this shot as we climbed and climbed and climbed, determined to reach the top.

Gives new meaning to the phrase ghost town, doesn’t it?

Love the west – Once you see the beauty and visit , the existence of God cannot be denied.

Hi. I’m Cathy.

This is a blog about writing, creative living, and grace in the everyday. It’s my hope this little spot on the internet will be for you a place of quiet and reflection, a source for inspiration, and a reminder there’s beauty all around—we simply need to keep our hearts open to see it. Thank you for being here with me.
