This one is not so surprising, I have to say. Our little pond seems to be the perfect layover spot for squatting Canada Geese that flap and honk and cause such a ruckus the lake’s other year-round inhabitants pretty much just move aside. These larger-than-life creatures like to park along the grassy fringe of our yard each morning, soaking in the sun, lording over the water’s edge. Suffice it to say they do not leave the area cleaner than they found it.
Still I don’t mind. I am fascinated to watch the goings-on, listening to the day sounds and the night sounds as all God’s creatures navigate the changing seasons.
And I am thankful for the feather and its reminder that blessings come in many shapes, sizes and temperamants.
