I made a new friend today, a young woman with whom I was corresponding about The Daily Grace. She ended one of the emails with this lovely comment:
I’m now into reading your older blog posts and love the 30 Day Series! I’m going to have to do the “Fun” ones before summer ends!
I’ve been thinking about doing that again, too, I wrote back. But I’m not having that much fun.”
And that is the point, I thought. Neither she, nor I, (nor you) should let this summer pass without a real effort to put a little fun into every single day.
So let us begin! 30 Days of Fun III ~ Summer 2015 ~ is officially underway!

I’m in. Now to think of fun stuff to do. Your other Rosie follower!
Looks to me like there is always fun at your house. I can only imagine what happens when you get intentional about it!
My fun this week has been in my yard. Screeching at a juvenile robin to not come close to the mower. Fussing over bird seed and water for birds and squirrels. And Saturday, a close friend and I are going to a BBQ contest downtown.Food, drimk and music.
That sounds like heaven to me. A little Robin!!!! And I’ve never been to a BBQ contest. Goes on my list!
Fun day coming up tomorrow with granddaughter- shopping, hair cut n lunch. Her enthusiasm is catchy n she’s fun to be around. Went shopping with sister in Charlotte 2 days ago n we had so much fun. So shopping with family is one fun time thing to do any time.
This makes me smile, Alice. I can just picture you two!
We are going back to the mountains and wonderful cool weather, now that’s what I call fun!!
I’m with you, sister!
Happy to join you!
A week in the mountains with Grand daughter Emily – fish hatchery visit; 5 Crowns card games; fishing; working jigsaw puzzles; swimming at Oconee State Park; rock hunting; reading; behind the barn on the “sitting rock” by Jerry’s Creek with our feet in the cool mountain stream; hiding things from Papa; guitar picking; biscuits/grits/bacon/egg breakfasts; woodwork lessons; dart games with Papa; identifying the creepy crawlies and the flying critters……
Pure, joyful, summertime memory making!
I am wildly inspired by your list and plan to incorporate some of these very things in my summer, now that I see them. Thank you, Joretta!
Why yes, I think I will! In fact, I started and didn’t even realize it!
Day 1-last Sunday for a birthday dinner for a special friend with special buds-Pool floatin’, margarita sippin’, fresh corn eatin’ and summer night chattin’-FUN, FUN, FUN!
That was one very fine summer day, wasn’t it?????
Yes, my friend, you are so right! I for one wait all year for it to arrive. I am joyous to wear shorts and sandals. ButSummertime is so much more than that.
One of my personal great joys of the season is the lightning bug/firefly. Every night that I am free I pull out my beach chair and sit in my backyard for at least an hour and watch the show. Even the mosquitoes leave me alone. You have got me thinking. I need to add to this joyous list.
Adding “firefly watching” to my list. Thank you, friend!
Keeping the beat!
I was acting like it anyway, Tim!
