THE FORECAST WAS for “wintry mix.” A slim chance of snow before 6am, but definitely rain, freezing rain, then rising temps and more rain.
That’s not what happened.
To my delight, when we woke up it was snowing and it was still snowing when, near the end of my workday, Tim stopped by the studio to see if I wanted to go for a walk.
Yes sir I believe I will.
It was COLD, and though we’d only had three inches or so, gosh was it beautiful, every leaf, stem and branch coated as if it had been dipped in water, then frozen, then rolled in snow. Everything around us was white, and the light was so flat it felt other-worldly.
Stella felt it, too, bounding across the fields and in and out of the woods like there were little snow fairies to be chased everywhere.
It made for a perfect January day. And you’d better believe we’ve got our eyes on the weather since, come Thursday, the forecast is snow showers!
