I Will Walk

Dec 4, 2013 | god & grace | 1 comment

I sat in church on Sunday making a mental list of the thousand things to be done this week. I mentally arranged and rearranged the endless holiday task list, prioritizing in terms of time management, multi-tasking options, approaching deadlines, and effective linear planning (i.e. the buying of, then wrapping of, then shipping of, packages). That’s when I realized we had sung halfway through my favorite Christmas hymn of all—Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming*—and I had been so busy planning, I had nearly missed it.

Lo.

I made a promise to myself at that moment.

I will walk slowly through this Advent Season.

I will listen.

I will watch.

I will wait.

I.

will.

walk.

slowly.

It’s my hope this little spot on the internet will be for you a place of quiet and reflection, a source for inspiration, and a reminder there’s beauty all around—we simply need to keep our hearts open to see it. Thank you for being here with me.
