It has been a very different Advent season, just as we knew it would be. I have not talked with a single friend or loved one who has not had difficult decisions to make, time-honored traditions to forego, life impacted by (or devastated by) the realities of tricky, hateful COVID. There is other suffering, as well, and that pain feels magnified, somehow, by the realities of this time in which we live.
And so on this Christmas Eve, my offering is a tiny prayer of hope.
May our hearts rest in the knowing.
May our hearts rest in the knowing: Light is coming.

Many years ago, just before going to bed on Christmas Eve, I made one last sweep through the house before heading to bed. The lights were on in the dining room, and I stepped in to find our cat, Tiger, nestled among the animals at the manger. He was not a cat prone to such jumping, and to this day I don’t know how he got up there and situated just so. There was not a lamb nor donkey nor camel displaced.
30 Days of Joy
Merry Christmas. Thank you for the reminder that LIGHT is coming.
Happy holidays to you, friend!
Thank you! Merry Christmas!

Thank you again for the simple, the forgotten and the important
Merry Christmas!
A perfect prayer to end a very imperfect year. And all the people say Amen!
Love you, sweet friend!
