You might think it a sad thing, our downtown-home ability to catch only teasing glimpses of the sky as the sun rises and sets each day over the city of Columbia. And very often that is the disappointing truth.
But not today.
Today I woke up to this photo, sent to me by my sweet friend Jan, who has a most spectacular view from her pretty home on Lake Murray. Accompanying the photo she wrote;
Sending you a light pic I took today. We get the sunset reflection behind our house. It was beautiful and unlike anything I’ve seen here before.
Zoom in and the bright circle of light you might think is the sun is actually the moon.
It made me smile to realize what a gift it is to have gorgeous moon rises; what a blessing it is to have friends who make sure you don’t miss them.
